No Sunday 5:00 pm Mass: Please note that we will not have Sunday 5:00 pm Masses starting this weekend, as well as Easter Sunday (April 5) or Divine Mercy Sunday (April 12), given the busyness of the Easter season. They will resume on Sunday, April 19.
Lost Keys: A set of keys was found in a pew on March 11th. Given that no one has claimed them yet, here is a picture of the prayer book that was left with them. If you can describe the keys, they can be returned to you during parish office hours.
Venerable Fulton J. Sheen: Life is Worth Living... When You Know, Love, and Live Your Faith!
According to the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints, Venerable Fulton J. Sheen of the United States is set to be beatified on Thursday, September 24, 2026, in St. Louis, Missouri. This is a moment of great joy for the Church in our country. His preaching, his clarity of thought, and his deep love for Christ touched millions, long before the digital age made evangelization easy. His witness reminds us that holiness is possible in every age and that the Gospel can reach hearts through any medium when it is proclaimed with conviction and charity.
As we look toward his beatification, we’re invited to rediscover his message: that life truly becomes “worth living” when it is anchored in Christ. May his example inspire us to grow in prayer, to love the Eucharist more deeply, and to share our faith with courage and joy.
Divine Mercy Sunday, April 12: Trust in Jesus so that we may have hope in the Father’s Mercy. We will celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday at St. Therese on Sunday, April 12. Fr. Van Sloun, Fr. Abraham, Fr. Maloney, and I will offer to hear confessions from 2:30 pm – 3:45 pm. Additionally, you can participate in Eucharistic Adoration beginning at 2:15 pm and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 3:00 pm. It will be beautiful!
Stenciling Repair to Start after Easter: As you may recall, our stenciling in the Sanctuary was damaged shortly after Christmas Day. We worked with our insurance company and submitted a claim. Our insurance representatives reviewed the damage, and our claim has been accepted. Conrad Schmitt will begin work to repair the damage right after Easter. We will need to put scaffolding up again for one month, which is the time they estimate to fix the damage. If you would be so kind, please pray for this important repair work!
Confessions: Thank you to everyone who came to our Parish Penance Service! We had what may have been our best numbers yet for our penance service, with many people experiencing the goodness and mercy of our Lord. May you experience the fruits of forgiveness and the gift of new life that our Lord Jesus Christ offers you!
Fr. Mike Schmitz: Fr. Schmitz recently put out a video where he does a very nice job explaining the meaning of the Mass. He explains each part of the Mass to help you understand the great gift of how we worship God each week. Enjoy!
Pope Leo XIV: There are reports that Pope Leo XIV is working on a new encyclical that will focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI), emphasizing that it must be developed for human flourishing and solidarity. Whereas Pope Leo XIII’s Rerum Novarum (1891) focused on significant societal changes driven by the industrial revolution, Pope Leo XIV’s encyclical (potentially entitled Magnifica Humanitas) will look at upholding human dignity and the moral responsibility in the age of AI.
Priest on Jeopardy: One of our Archdiocesan priests is a walking encyclopedia. He applied for Jeopardy, passed all the hurdles, and made the show! He is under contract not to disclose how he did, so you will have to watch and see!
