April 24, 2026
Greetings in Christ,
This Sunday is called Good Shepherd Sunday, where our Lord says not once but twice, “I am the Good Shepherd.” Jesus is our Good Shepherd as He not only cares for us but also lays down His life for us. Love always involves sacrifice, and St. Thérèse says that love is nourished by sacrifice. May our Lord grant you all the graces that you need to imitate Him!
Sunday 5:00 pm Mass:We will have our weekly 5:00 pm Sunday Mass this weekend, April 26. We are blessed to have Teresa Shackelford with her beautiful singing voice and musical gifts with us at this liturgy.
St. Therese Gala: The St. Therese Gala ticket sales close today! Our Gala will be on Friday, May 1, at The Metropolitan in Golden Valley. The theme for our Gala is: Prince of Peace. This year, our fund-a-need will focus on improving security for our church and school. Our parish and school gala is a wonderful event and celebration of our beloved parish, and it helps strengthen our community! If you have never been to a gala, I encourage you to come!
Gala Silent Auction: Donations are needed for our Silent Auction! Donation ideas may include, but are not limited to, a spa day package, private chef dinner party, weekend getaways, cabin retreats, sporting experiences, concert experiences, wine tastings or tours, city adventures, craft sessions, wellness retreats, airline miles, tech gadgets, and easy opportunities: gift cards to local favorites. Donations are still being accepted today, Friday, April 24.
Fund-A-Need: Whether you can join us on May 1st or not, consider donating to our Fund-A-Need. Help to improve the security needs of our campus! Your donation will help with automatic locking doors, riot-proof glass, and emergency police buttons in the event of a campus lockdown. Every gift helps improve security for our campus. Donate today and make a lasting impact!
Shroud of Turin: Below is a copy of the presentation that I gave this week on the Shroud of Turin. The Shroud is the best “silent witness” of the passion, death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. As one scholar puts it, the Shroud is God’s “selfie” of how much He loves you and lives! Along with the presentation, I will include a link for Fr. Robert Spitzer, one of the world’s foremost scholars on the Shroud of Turin. He is very fascinating!
Update Your Membership Information: Does our Church database have YOUR family membership record correct? Do you want your record published? Here is your chance to update your record for our Guide Book & Directory.
It is time for us to update our database with any changes, additions, or deletions that may have occurred in your family.
Have you changed your phone number? Do you no longer have a landline? Have you moved? Are you preparing to move soon?
Please call Geri in the church office to update your record in our database.
Prayer Shawl Ministry: Do you know someone who would be comforted and blessed by a prayer shawl? They are created with care, love, and prayer for someone in need. Perhaps you know of someone who has lost a loved one, is hospitalized, is preparing for surgery, or is suffering in any way? Maybe a friend, a relative, or even yourself. Contact Geri in the parish office at 952-473-4422 to help pick out a shawl to give to someone who needs comfort.
Job Openings: We are looking to fill two very important positions at St. Therese with Liz’s upcoming retirement and Joe’s move to Campus Minister at Holy Family Catholic High School next year. If you are interested or know someone who would be qualified for either of these two positions, please encourage them to apply. Below are the job postings for Director of Faith Formation and Middle School Youth Minister. Please pray that we can fill these positions with great disciples of Christ!

Youth Ministry Scholarship Fund: We are raising money for our Youth Ministry Scholarship Fund. Through this fund, St. Therese Youth Discipleship Ministry is able to provide life-changing opportunities to our middle and high schoolers. This fund provides full & partial scholarships to our youth so that they are able to afford camps, retreats, conferences, and other powerful ministry events. The fund is also used to cover expenses such as transportation, food, and chaperone fees that are necessary for us to take part in these events. You can donate to the fund at our table after Mass this weekend, or

The April focus for Reclaiming Sundays is Breaking Bread: Marta Pereira, a campus minister at the University of St. Thomas, reminisces about her traditions of breaking bread while growing up in Costa Rica — praying, telling stories, and sharing a family meal on Sundays. With the busyness of today’s family life, she encourages families to be intentional about making time for the most special of guests — Christ and family. Let’s claim Sundays for the Lord and our families.
Breaking Bread
“A meal is a moment that can create a meaningful encounter with those we love.”
