June 12, 2026
Greetings in Christ,
This weekend, we return to our weekend cycle of readings for Ordinary Time. Given that we are in Year A, the Church brings us through the Gospel of Matthew. Our Lord calls His twelve disciples, giving them authority over unclean spirits and the power to cure every disease and every illness. Matthew tells us the names of the twelve, which are certainly a motley crew! They are a great inspiration and reminder that our Lord loves to work through unique people!
Capital Campaign Planning Study: Our planning study, which will help us best determine how to conduct our upcoming campaign, is still underway. By now, you should have received your survey in the mail. The survey can also be filled out online on the campaign section of our website. The planning study will end on June 17. If you would like to complete the survey online, you may access the survey at the link below:
The campaign section on our parish website has more information about the upcoming campaign.
Steier Group will provide a full report to the church and school leadership at the end of June. The report will help leadership make informed decisions for the upcoming campaign in September. Please pray for the success of the campaign and that God’s will be done! Thank you for all that you do for St. Therese!
Sacred Heart of Jesus: Our Catholic faith celebrates the Sacred Heart of Jesus for the entire month of June. The devotion is rooted in the 17th-century visions of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, wherein the physical heart of Jesus is a symbol of His boundless, burning love and mercy for humanity. Below is an image of the Sacred Heart that I recently came across when administering the Last Rites for someone. I like it so much that I got it reprinted and will be framed and put in my rectory so I can see it often. It is a beautiful image of our Lord!
Two New Hires: I’m pleased to announce that we will be adding two new hires to our team to carry forward the important work and fill the big shoes of Liz Lammers (Director of Faith Formation) and Joe Schiltz (Youth Minister). Both have set a high bar through their dedication and service, and we are excited for the next chapter as our new team members step into these roles.
Adrienne Dembinski:
Hello! My name is Adrienne Dembinski, and I am honored and excited to introduce myself as the new Faith Formation Director at the parish! I have been coming to St. Therese for the past 6 years. You have probably seen me at Mass on Sundays along with my husband Mike, our two boys, Albert and Simon, my parents, and my brother; it’s a whole family affair, and I love it! Mike and I have been blessed to help lead OCIA at the parish for the past four years, and we have absolutely enjoyed every minute of it. I am excited to expand my role and support additional areas of Faith Formation as well as Missions and Service within this wonderful parish community. I have a deep love for our Lord and for the Catholic faith, and I look forward to
sharing the beauty, truth, and joy of our faith with even more people in the years ahead. When I am not at work, you can find me spending time with my family, running, cross-country skiing, gardening, hiking/camping, enjoying spirited card games with my husband and family, reading, and making my boys laugh!
Matthew Sell:
My name is Matthew. I am a former seminarian for the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, and I am very excited for the opportunity to work with you and your youth! I have been involved in youth groups myself both as a youth and as a leader throughout my middle school, high school, and college years. Youth ministry is one of my passions, and I am very blessed for the opportunity to do so at St. Therese! I love being in the outdoors and doing outdoor activities like boating, camping, and hiking. I am looking forward to meeting you all!
Graduation Mass Celebration this weekend at 10:00 am Mass: Join us as we celebrate and honor our graduating seniors at our Graduation Mass! Together, we will give thanks for the accomplishments achieved and the future that awaits them. As a parish community, we are proud of our graduates and excited to pray for them as they begin this next chapter of life. Graduating Seniors, please RSVP using the following QR code.
Sunday 5:00 pm Mass: We will have our weekly Mass at 5:00 pm this Sunday, June 14. We are blessed to have Teresa Shackelford with her beautiful singing voice and musical gifts with us at this liturgy. Please note that with Fr. Maloney’s assignment at St. Therese ending on June 30th, we will not have the Sunday 5:00 pm Mass in July or August. We will reevaluate how often we can offer this Mass later this summer.
Annual Retreat: I will be taking my annual retreat beginning Sunday evening, June 14. It will be a great opportunity to spend a bit more time with the Lord and connect more deeply with my spiritual director. It will be a silent retreat, so I will disconnect from email and phone for the week. I plan to return to the parish on Friday afternoon, June 19. Fr. Maloney will be here for all the weekday Masses, including Wednesday evening confession and Mass.
Little Flower Chapel Update: Boyer construction workers have made great progress on our chapel over the past couple of weeks. The carpet has been taken out, and the stained-glass window is being removed and repaired. Additionally, workers are putting new frames around the windows. Once the stained-glass window work is complete, new tile will go in that will be quite beautiful! We are also looking at adding sound absorption panels and lighting for the new Stations of the Cross.
Two Cabins are left for the Greece Pilgrimage until June 15, or if they sell out beforehand: We will be taking a pilgrimage in the footsteps of St. Paul on a 9-night Cruise plus 4 nights in Athens. The pilgrimage that will take place from September 14 to 28, 2026, is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
We will follow in the footsteps of Saint Paul through Athens, Corinth, Ephesus, Thessaloniki, and Philippi! The 9-night cruise will sail through the breathtaking Greek Isles, giving you the opportunity to visit ancient temples and idyllic seaside villages in six ports of call: Rhodes, Ephesus, Santorini, Mykonos, Philippi, and Thessaloniki.
