Greetings in Christ,
This weekend, the Church continues to draw from Matthew 13, where Jesus gives seven parables helping us to understand the beauty and richness of the kingdom of God. Today, we have the parable of the wheat and weeds. There is a call for patience, as what is hidden will reveal itself in time and what is together will be separated at the end of time. Along with the wheat and weeds, we will hear that the kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed and yeast that leavens three measures of wheat flour.
Extreme Faith Camp: Our group of 70 middle school campers, teen counselors, and adult leaders had a great week at Extreme Faith Camp in Trego, WI. The campers enjoy a week of outdoor adventures, opportunities to encounter Christ through Mass, confession, Eucharistic adoration, and time to build new friendships rooted in faith. Below is a picture of our happy teens from the great week that they had together!
A Talk on Artificial Intelligence (AI): This coming Tuesday, one of our parishioners, Dave Ingham, will offer a talk on AI for our parish. Dave is well-versed in information technology in his profession. He will provide an overview of AI, including how it can benefit humanity by helping us gather information, boost productivity, and reduce workload. Dave will also discuss potential risks to human dignity such as algorithmic bias, displacement of jobs, and erosion of critical-thinking skills. Finally, Dave will touch on how people of goodwill can productively engage AI and other novel technology. Dave will offer the talk twice on Tuesday, July 21 at 10:00 am and 6:30 pm in the Community Room.
Jackson Hole: I am grateful that Fr. Maloney covered the Masses for me while away last week. The Psalms Conference was excellent, and it was nice to get away with some family friends. They invited me to join them in Jackson Hole last weekend, where some of them participated in a wedding. Below are some pictures that I thought you might enjoy. The Teton Mountains are lovely! We stopped at what was an old Episcopalian chapel and prayed the Rosary to invite the Blessed Mother to care for us. :)
Pancake Breakfast: This weekend, July 19, join us after the 8 am & 10 am Masses for one more pancake breakfast with our retiring Director of Faith Formation, Liz Lammers. She also wants to thank you for 20 years of partnership by having this meal! You will also have the opportunity to meet our new Director of Faith Formation, Adrienne Dembinski.

Let’s reclaim Sundays for the Lord and our families.

All grandparents and spiritual grandparents are invited to a morning of celebration, encouragement, prayer and fellowship highlighted by a presentation by Rev. Kevin Manthey, Pastor of Maternity of Mary Catholic Church, St. Paul. Refreshments will be served. Catholic Homesteading Conference

All are invited to a fun-filled day of inspiring talks on G.K. Chesterton and distributism, practical advice for healthier living, and various homesteading workshops. Learn more about starting a homestead or side hustle, making your own soap, as well as pasture grazing and feeding livestock! There’s a little something for everyone, including door prizes, giveaways, vendors, and of course Mass, prayer and fellowship. Retrouvaille Weekend Retreat for Couples
July 31-Aug. 2, Eagan
Retrouvaille (pronounced re-tro-VI) is French for rediscovery. Through Retrouvaille, a rewarding marriage is out there for you, despite the pain and struggles you may be facing right now. This program offers tools needed to rediscover a loving marriage. Thousands of couples headed for cold, unloving relationships or divorce have successfully overcome their marriage problems by attending Retrouvaille. In addition to the initial weekend, Retrouvaille offers a community of continuing support. For more information, go to helpourmarriage.org.
The Vocations Office is hosting an info session at SJV for parents and high-school men who might be interested in learning about the seminary. This will be on Wednesday, August 12, starting at 5:00 pm, and it includes Mass, dinner, a presentation, and a tour of the seminary. Check out this flyer
Sunday, Aug. 16, following 11:30 am Mass, Holy Cross, Minneapolis
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of World Mission Sunday and the beatification of Archbishop Fulton Sheen, the Center for Mission will be praying the World Mission Rosary at different parishes throughout the Archdiocese where there is a larger presence of parishioners representative of one of the five regions of the World Mission Rosary. Estate Planning: A reminder that we have a Little Flower Legacy Society at St. Therese to encourage planned and estate gifts to our parish, our school, or one of our endowment funds. Please include St. Therese as a beneficiary in your estate planning! It is an opportunity to give back to our beloved parish and ensure that our parish remains financially viable for generations to come!
